Our Sustainability Strategy

MUFG Pension & Market Services is a responsible business committed to building a sustainable future for our people, clients, and the communities in which we operate.

Our Sustainability Strategy incorporates robust environmental, social, and governance (ESG) focus areas that are material to our business. It supports our purpose of empowering a brighter future by connecting people with their assets – safely, securely, and responsibly.

Across our global operations, we seek to reduce our environmental impact, support our clients, contribute to employee wellbeing, promote diversity and inclusion, and deliver mutual business and social benefits to the community. Our sustainability strategy aims to align with the Paris Agreement and five of the UN Sustainable Development Goals:

Net Zero Commitment

MUFG Pension & Market Services is committed to managing and reducing our impact on the environment and the climate. As a large global business, we recognise our role in supporting the transition to a low carbon economy, and have set a science-based net zero target of 2040.

MUFG Emissions Reduction Targets

Sustainability Reports

Our 2024 Sustainability Report provides an overview of our approach and global performance across our eleven strategic focus areas, and includes customer, people, environmental and community metrics.

This report also establishes our new greenhouse gas emissions baseline from which we will measure our progress towards our net zero target of 2040, and includes climate-related disclosures that are broadly aligned with the IFRS/AASB S2 reporting standard.

Human Rights and Modern Slavery

MUFG Pension & Market Services has a responsibility to respect human rights in our operations and supply chain, as well as opportunities to support and advance human rights within our sphere of influence.

Across our global business, we aim to operate as responsibly and ethically, and are committed to implementing policies and practices to support and strengthen human rights protections. We seek to monitor, assess and mitigate human rights and modern slavery risks in our business across all jurisdictions in which we operate. We are also committed to providing an inclusive environment that supports the health, safety and well-being of our people, and we expect our partners and suppliers to do the same.
